About the Master Cutler's Challenge
The Master Cutler's Challenge is a long-standing fundraising event that brings businesses, organisations and schools across Sheffield and South Yorkshire together to raise money for local causes.
For 2027, Master and Mistress Cutler Ian and Liz Nicholls have chosen to support Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity. Funds raised will go towards the transformation of Sheffield Children’s Emergency Department, with a portion also supporting Theo’s Burns Club, a cause particularly close to Liz’s heart.
The challenge will launch in February 2027, giving teams across the region the chance to come together, get involved and make a difference to children and families.
What we're funding
By taking part in the Master Cutler's Challenge, your support will fund two areas at Sheffield Children's. Together, we’ll be helping to transform our Emergency Department and support children and families affected by burn injuries through Theo’s Burns Club.
Transforming our Emergency Department
We’re raising £6.3 million towards the transformation of Sheffield Children’s Emergency Department. The redevelopment will create a calmer, more welcoming environment designed around the needs of children, young people and their families, helping us provide the best possible care when they need it most.
Supporting Theo's Burns Club
Theo’s Burns Club supports children and families following burn injuries, providing social events and ongoing support throughout childhood. The club is particularly close to Liz’s heart, having been involved in supporting children and families following their burns care at Sheffield Children’s.
