That time Tom and I hiked across the Peaks

Saturday 29th Mar
This was the first minute of my biggest training hike - 2 days with Tom starting near Chapel-en-le-Frith and going up over Kinder Scout and onwards to a lovely hotel in Hope for the night, then along the valley and over Surprise View and Burbage the next day to walk back home via an ice cream at Forge Dam. 40K steps each day! We really felt it the week after - sure I'll feel more exhausted after the real challenge in 2 weeks time - BRING IT ON.

The World's Best Scone

One of the less arduous training hikes right around Chatsworth Estate for a lovely few hours with my friend Denice and managed to get a sun spot at the end of the day for the world's best scone in Edensor Tea Rooms :)

Thanks everyone for coming to my page. I am super looking forward to the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge in a couple of weeks. I decided to sign up on my first day at UniHomes because it's such a lovely group of colleagues and a really great cause - The  Children's Hospital Charity and the vital funds they need for Sheffield Children's Hospital!

So far training-wise it started off with maximum enthusiasm (as with all my endeavours), 
- I did a number of big solo hikes in the snow and frost in January
- Tom and I did a 2 day hike right across the Peak District (8.5 hours hiking each day!) which was really confidence building
- A group of us who are all part of the UniHomes team spent a very jolly few hours hiking Kinder Scout (the largest hill in the Peak District) through driving horizontal rain
- I've done a few more little hikes including a marvellous scone at Edensor tea room (om nom nom)

Today's the last training hike and I'm excited to get out into the sunshine. I'd super appreciate any donations big or small - thank you so much everyone.
