I'm fundraising for The Children’s Hospital Charity

On 20th June, The Children’s Hospital Charity would have been holding their annual Chatsworth Walk. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, sadly this event has had to be cancelled. But, we aren’t going to let that stop us!

Sheffield Children’s still needs our support now more than ever so Imogen is taking on her own sponsored walk to support the hospital. Every step she conquers and every pound she raises will change the lives of hundreds of children who visit Sheffield Children’s Hospital every day.

Your donations will make Sheffield Children’s Hospital even better, by creating an environment built with children in mind. With your help, we will fund new facilities, vital research, specialist equipment and a comfortable, engaging setting to help thousands of children from across the UK and beyond.

Thank you for your support. You are making a difference to thousands of children and their families.

Imogen's fund raising story ❤

Saturday 27th Jun
In February,  Imogen was admitted to Bassetlaw hospital with what we thought was a water infection.  The day progressed and it was quickly becoming apparent that Imogen wasn't fighting a water infection but possible appendicitis. Imogen was transferred from Bassetlaw to Doncaster where she was scheduled to have her appendix removed. Whilst at Doncaster, Imogen's health declined rapidly and at 10.29pm she went into septic shock and needed to be resuscitated. It was at this point, we discovered she had bacterial pneumonia that had developed into sepsis.

Imogen was then rushed into theatre to help try and stabilise her condition. During this time we were told to prepare ourselves as she was seriously ill. Imogen was put on to a ventilator to give her body a rest as her left lung had collapsed.  The Embrace team came to transport Imogen from Doncaster to Sheffield Children's hospital, where she recieved the most incredible around the clock care.

Imogen spent 3 days ventilated on the Intensive care unit before being placed on a ward to recuperate.

After 8 days, Imogen had made an amazing recovery and was allowed to come home.

As a family we can not put into words how incredibly proud we are of our fighter! Imogen continues to go from strength to strength everyday.

If you are able to sponsor please do, however big or small. Every little helps, Imogen is just a 9 year old girl who wants to give back for the incredible treatment she recieved.

Thank you to my Sponsors
