I'm fundraising for The Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity!

This year I will be walking/jogging for my late Son Daniel. (Birthday Christmas Day ) Daniel was my first born, a baby who taught me to become a mum; little did I know, at the time, he would teach me so much more. Like all mothers, children bring lots of challenges, in Daniel’s case, his illness brought pain, fear and uncertainties, reaching depths I never knew existed.

memories we all have of daniel were supported at the Sheffield Childrens Hospital. The Old M 3 ward. Now ward 6 “Daniel was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma at the young  of 14  . He was in so much pain, at one point his medication included 72 tablets. 

Daniel's. Cancer  spread to his lungs which  also left  him with  Renal  failure. During that time, life itself entered a whole new meaning, for both of us. The challenges made our relationship really special whilst he was at the Hospital and his strength was amazing. "Daniel was immensely talented, warm and caring. He was a born artist with a natural skill for drawing and painting, he loved., ..  ..

Rachael & the Team was able to  help  Dan  carry  on with is art whilst he was an inpatient at the Hospital . 

He loved his family and friends and really enjoyed learning, thriving in his education. Whilst still at the. hospital. He also managed to travel to some amazing places and meet the loveliest people. He even had his art work displayed at Christie’s auction house in London. He loved that. "Despite his strength, bravery and resilience, Daniel passed away in May 2010 aged 19. I am sharing Daniel’s story because he’s my child and I will never stop talking about him. The memories of him will live on forever, because he was more than his cancer....
