How do I register?
Just click the register button at the top of this page and away you go! Online entry for the event will close on Friday 10th June at 4pm.
The event starts at 10am on Saturday 11th June.
Is there a registration fee?
There is a registration fee for this event, which helps to cover our costs of running the event. The ticket prices are:
Adult - £10
Child - £5
Under 3 - free
Family of 4 - £30
Family of 5 - £35
Family of 6 - £40
Can I register a team?
You sure can! When you register there will be an option to enter a team or to join an existing team so gather your friends and family members and enter together!
What happens once I’ve registered?
We’ll send you a confirmation email of your booking along with your fundraising pack. Keep an eye out for our e-mails as we’ll be sending you lots of hints, tips and up to date news in the run up to event day.
Where does my registration fee go?
Whilst your registration fee will help cover some of the event costs including your fundraising pack, medal and use of the Chatsworth Estate, it’s the extra money raised on your fundraising page or through sponsor forms that really make the difference for the children and families that visit Sheffield Children's.
Can children enter?
Yes, all children are welcome but anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied around the route by an adult.
What distance is the walk?
There are two route options; 3km or 10km - the choice is yours.
The route map will be available on our website and also sent out to you nearer the time - don't worry, copies will also be available on the day. This route is suitable for walkers, ramblers or for those who fancy a nice stroll on a Saturday morning!
Is the event timed?
Nope! We would like everyone to enjoy the informal, friendly atmosphere of walking along the route, so for this event, there will be no timing or results available. Everyone enjoys the course in their own way. Please feel free to bring your own timing device, if you wish.
Can I walk with my dog?
You can, however we would advise that all dogs stay on a lead to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of everyone taking part in the event.
What are the safety rules?
If you've suffered a recent illness or have a medical condition please consult your doctor before taking part. If in any doubt, please don't participate. Safety is our top priority and all participants should take precautions. A medical team will be in attendance throughout the event.

Do I need insurance?
You will be entering this challenge entirely at your own risk and will not be covered by The Children’s Hospital Charity. It is up to you to make sure you have insurance in place, should you encounter injury, loss or damage to yourself or any personal belongings. Please ensure you read and agree to the terms & conditions when registering for the event.
Can I bring a pushchair or a wheelchair?
The route is pushchair and wheelchair accessible. We will be using the footpath all the way around the route, however there are some inclines on the route. If you are unsure or worried about this please do give us a call or email us at [email protected]
Can my family and friends come to cheer me on?
Yes, spectators are more than welcome! But they are also welcome to join in with you, don't forget there are shorter routes available too!
What should I wear?
All entrants are responsible for their own kit but should come equipped for unpredictable weather conditions. As this is the UK, it could be glorious sunshine where suncream will be necessary or we could have heavy rain where a raincoat and umbrella would be needed. We advise wearing walking boots or trainers either way to ensure comfy feet at all times!

Do you have any other rules?
Respect above all else. We are YES people, we’ll do what we can to ensure a great morning as long as you do the same and treat all our: entertainers, participants, venue, staff, volunteers and new friends with respect.
We are an alcohol, smoking and drug free zone.
Will the event be cancelled due to adverse weather?
Come rain or shine we will go ahead!
The only reason the event would ever be cancelled would be due to heavy snow and ice. If we do have to cancel for this reason (which is unlikely in June!), then we will aim to hold the event on an alternative date as soon as we can. Unfortunately, registration fees are non-refundable for weather cancellations.

What if the event is cancelled due to COVID 19 restrictions?
If the event needs to be cancelled due to COVID-19 then The Children’s Hospital Charity will aim to hold the event on an alternative date or hold the event virtually as we did in 2020! If you cannot take part in the alternative events then the charity will be able to offer you a refund for your ticket(s). However, if you would be happy for us to use your registration fee as a donation, we’d be extremely grateful for this during this time.

Will there be toilets?
Portaloos will be available in the event village; however there are no toilets on route. There will also be toilets available to use near Chatsworth House.
Where can I park?
If you enter Chatsworth estate at the Golden Gates, then parking will be next to the event village on the grass. Parking Stewards will be there to guide you in.
If using a SatNav, please use the postcode DE45 1PN but follow the road until you spot the Golden Gates.
Can I bring a picnic/lunch on the walk?
Of course! There will be some lovely places along the route where you can stop for some lunch.
There is a small cafe by Chatsworth House and there will be food available to purchase in the event village, or you can bring your picnic with you.
What is Team Theo?
Team Theo is anyone who supports and fundraises for The Children’s Hospital Charity, which helps make Sheffield Children’s Hospital better. We are so happy you are joining Team Theo!
How do I fundraise?
When you register for Team Theos Chatsworth Walk, you will be also encouraged to set up your personal fundraising page. Once set up you can let your family, friends, relatives, co-workers, classmates and neighbours know you are participating, share with them your fundraising goals, and ask them for a specific donation. Remember, it’s for a really good cause. You will be surprised how many will support your efforts. If fundraising pages aren’t your thing, you will receive sponsorship forms in your fundraising pack that you can use and once you have collected in your fundraising cash, you can bring this into the charity office.
What is the fundraising target?
We are aiming to raise £30,000 from this event for Sheffield Children's.
We are asking each participant to try and raise £75. Your registration fee will help cover the cost of the event and therefore this £75 can help make a huge difference to Sheffield Children’s Hospital. However, this is not a requirement but every little helps!
Where will my fundraising go?
Sheffield Children’s Hospital is a specialist children’s hospital, providing world-class care for children all over Yorkshire and across the UK. The Children’s Hospital Charity makes Sheffield Children’s Hospital even better, by creating an environment built with children in mind. Your donations will help us support Sheffield Children's where it is needed most, which is currently to build a Helipad on the roof of the hospital.
How do I pay in my fundraising?
Ask people to donate directly to your online fundraising page. That way, the money will automatically come direct to us and you don’t have to chase anyone to collect their money. If you’ve collected cash then you can pay the money in by sending a cheque made payable to ‘The Children’s Hospital Charity’ at The Children’s Hospital Charity, Western Bank, Sheffield S10 2TH.
You can also send your money in via bank transfer. Please email us at [email protected] for our bank details.
Remember, if you’re collecting offline donations please ask your supporters to fill in a sponsorship form and tick the Gift Aid Box, if applicable.
If someone else signed you up to the event - please reference both yours and their name when handing over any offline donations.

What happens with my data?
By registering for Team Theo’s Chatsworth Walk you are agreeing to be contacted by The Children's Hospital Charity for this event via email, phone and in the post. This is so we can keep you up to date with the Chatsworth Walk event before it takes place as well as after with details of how your fundraising has made a difference.
